Football

You guys.....orange is not my color.
It's just not right with my skin tone.
BUT, I wear it anyways to support the only two football teams I like.
And hey, it sure looks good on this guy.

Turks & Caicos

Last week, we were lucky enough to get away for a bit with some friends and relax on the beach in Turks and Caicos.

We sat on the beach....We walked along the shore....We took naps on the sand....We got massages....We swam in the ocean....We went snorkeling....We cooked....We tried several local restaurants....We saw a dolphin....And we didn't want to leave....

We had so much fun doing everything and nothing.  It was the perfect way to unwind after the holidays, and get out if this dreary cold weather.

It's early, but...

It's time to start blogging again, my friends. We are headed for a little R&R, but when I return, I'll have some fun things to talk about!  Until then, I'll be thinking of you all while my toes are in the sand and wind is in my hair.

Love,
W.A.B

Another One Bites the Dust

A few weekends ago, my friend Carly married the love of her life, Curtis Nolte.
And I take full credit for this union!
You see, if we hadn't been friends, she never would have moved to Nashville to live with me. She never would have found her job around the corner from our apartment and she never would have met Curtis there. I know, it was fate!
They are perfect for each other and their wedding was so much fun. I am so happy I got to be a part of it!

And if your wondering about the title of this post, it's the song they walked into the reception as they were announced as a couple!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Nolte!

Sunday Boredom

Well Hello!
Just checking in on this gorgeous Sunday afternoon to share a little project I did for my entertainment center.

I've been looking....and looking....and looking...for grey storage baskets to hold my DVD's.  My entertainment center is all black and the walls are grey, so I wanted to keep it simple and go with the same color family.
With no luck on finding grey baskets, I finally gave up and bought these from Target in blue, hoping they would tie in with the blue pillows on my couch.

(notice it's not on my couch anymore)

I filled up the baskets, placed them on the shelves of the entertainment center, and stared at them.

They were too blue....too...Florida Gators blue.....  Not the look I was going for.

I didn't want to return them, so naturally, I painted them!

I still had extra paint samples from when I was searching for the perfect grey to paint the living room walls.
I have an obsession with grey. So what?!

This is Benjamin Moore "Moonshine"
which actually looks white....and it pretty much is....which is why I didn't use it on the walls.
Oh well.

I just painted the outside of the bins since you wouldn't be able to see the inside at all.

I painted 3 coats and let them dry for 2 days before I put them back on the shelves.

One problem, I only had enough paint for 4 baskets......and I have 8.

Whoops!

So here is what it looks like now....

I might get another sample of slightly darker grey paint and have a gradient look going on.

To Be Continued....

I hope everyone remembered to Spring Forward!

Happy Valentines Day!

Jon and I celebrated Valentines Day a little early while we were in NYC. We had so much fun trying new restaurants, walking around the city, and enjoying the company of great friends.
In case you didn't know, it snowed A LOT in the northeast. Of course, they know how to handle things up there and had the roads cleared the next day. The weather was beautiful!

Today, tell someone you love them, even if you think they already know it.
